  • Two editions in the file - the lifter's and the runner's - because a lifter logs sets and a runner logs weeks, and a sheet built for both is a sheet for neither
  • 91 pages each. The lifter gets six blocks of twelve sessions; the runner gets four blocks of thirteen weeks, which is a year
  • A row per SET, not per exercise. Three by eight is what gets written when the form makes you, and it is never what the third set was
  • An RPE ring on every set row, with the scale printed once: ten is nothing left, nine is one more at most, and so on down
  • The scale is credited to the paper that defined it, and printed because it is a definition - an RPE column with no scale beside it is a number two people will use differently
  • The runner's week sheet has seven day rows with distance, time, RPE, shoes and how it felt, and a total you add up yourself - because a printed total is a target
  • A shoe log with a running total per pair, and nothing anywhere about when to replace them: the number people repeat has no good source
  • No percentage of a maximum, no pace table, no heart-rate zone and no weekly rule appears anywhere

What is inside

Two editions in the file, because a lifter logs sets and a runner logs weeks.

The lifter's edition: six blocks, each with an overview and twelve sessions, plus a lifts record. The runner's: four blocks of thirteen weeks — a year — plus a shoe log, routes and race sheets. 91 pages each, all linked.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

· A row per SET, not per exercise. "3 × 8 @ 60" is what gets written when the form makes you, and it is never what the third set actually was

· An RPE ring on every set row, with the scale printed once at the front: ten is nothing left, nine is one more at most, eight is two, and so on down

· That scale is credited to the paper that defined it, and it is the only prescriptive-looking thing in the file — because it is a definition, not an instruction. An RPE column with no scale beside it is a number two people will use differently

· Printed with the finding that came with it: novices rate themselves less accurately than experienced lifters do. Which is a reason to keep writing it down, not a reason to stop

· The runner's week sheet has seven day rows — distance, time, RPE, shoes, how it felt — and a weekly total you add up yourself, because a printed total is a target

· A shoe log with a running total per pair, and nothing anywhere about when to replace them. The number everyone repeats has no good source

· No percentage of a one-rep maximum. No pace table. No heart-rate zone. No weekly mileage rule. All four are prescriptions that belong to a coach and a body

· No nutrition pages and no body measurements at all. Every one of those fields is a health claim, and this is a book about training

· "Block" is defined on the page as however long you say it is. The file has no opinion about what should be in one

· No branding inside. You are buying paper, not an advert.
