CONFIDENCE IS RECORDED THREE TIMES, AND DATED
Every revision template on sale has a red-amber-green column, filled in once.
A single rating is a feeling on a Tuesday. It tells you nothing, and it is usually wrong in the direction of whatever you revised most recently.
Three dated ratings on the same row tell you what MOVED, which is the only thing worth knowing in eight weeks. And a topic that has been amber three times is one that needs a different method rather than another hour.
THE PAST-PAPER LOG HAS NO SCORE COLUMN
The score is the least useful number in revision. It is an average over things you know and things you do not, it moves for reasons that are not learning, and watching it is how people spend an evening feeling bad instead of working.
What it records instead is what you got wrong, listed by topic - so it points straight back at a row on the topic sheet.
WHAT IS NOT PRINTED
No grade, no boundary, no mark scheme, no exam board and no qualification is named anywhere. No subject list either.
Those differ by country, by board and by year, they belong to the awarding bodies, and a printed boundary is a number a frightened seventeen-year-old might believe.
There is no revision timetable template, because every one of them assumes a school day, a free period and a household - and most students have some other shape of day.
And no advice: nothing here says how many hours, how long a break should be, or which method works. Those are contested, they are personal, and a stationery file has no standing to say.
